Welcome back to the Zen(ish) Mommy Podcast! This Podcast is a place for all women to connect, educate themselves, and slow down. This month, we’re talking about how to bring a positive mindset into our homes to share with our children. While the act of replacing a negative thought with a positive one is simple in theory, in practice, it’s a lot hard to do. Today, I will be sharing how I manage my mindset, and guide my children to do the same. Let’s talk about how to bring a positive mindset into your home through these quick and easy tips.
One of my top positive mindset tips is to invest in yourself and find time for self-care. This can look different for everyone, and so does rest! What might be emotionally restful, might be physical activity. The same applies to self-care. It doesn’t always look like getting massages, or getting your nails done. Self-care is simply time spent prioritizing yourself. We may only get 5 minutes a day to do this, which is why I love mindfulness meditation. Check out last week’s episode, 10 Tips on Bringing Mindfulness into Your Everyday. This is a great place to start. If you want to take a step further, this 5-minute morning meditation is a perfect way to start your day; 5 Minute Morning Meditation
“If you’re stuck in, what I call with my kiddos, ‘stinking thinking’, try to think of something that you are grateful for. Even just starting with a sunny day, or having breath in your lungs, or having an able body to walk and run and hug your children.”

I get it, it’s not an easy process to have a positive mindset when you’re stuck. But it can be simple!
Allow those negative emotions to pass like clouds. Remind yourself that all your feelings are temporary. Find the value in quiet time. Find yourself in stillness and meditation. For more on this, check out today’s mini episode & let us know what you’d like to hear more of!
Namaste, Jessica.
