Are you ready for these incredible vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free chocolate superfood energy balls? I absolutely love making these on a Sunday morning as I prep for the week. They are the PERFECT on-the-go breakfast, midday pick me up snack, or a post-workout refueler.
My kiddos go crazy for these, as do I. Luckily, they are gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan!!
Let’s start cooking these vegan chocolate energy balls!
I start by placing all the ingredients in my food processor: pitted dates, walnuts, gluten-free oats, almond butter, flax seed, dark chocolate, and sea salt.
I use the superfood pitted dates from Terrasoul. They are certified organic, and packed with Vitamin A, potassium, and fiber.
If you are looking for rolled, gluten-free, organic oats, you MUST try Rachel’s rolled oats. These oats are the best for these energy balls because they also have chia, hemp, and flax seeds to add even more superfoods to these energy balls.
Another great option for rolled oats are the GF Harvest organic oats. These oats are great for this recipe if you don’t want the extra superfood additives. They are also great for my overnight oats recipe.
Nuts can contain LOTS of pesticides if you aren’t careful with where you buy them. I always use NOW Foods certified organic walnuts. NOW Foods always has great quality nuts that I know I can trust.
Consequently, pesticides are not limited to raw nuts. They are also prevalent in nut butters, so make sure you are using an organic almond butter for this recipe. Try the Georgia Grinder almond butter with maple and caramel. It adds an amazing sweetness to this recipe!
When I am hunting for dairy-free chocolate bars, I often spend hours looking for a brand that is dairy-free, organic, and keto friendly. This can be so so hard to find so if you’re anything like me, make sure you check out Hu Chocolate bars for this recipe. They work perfectly for these delicious energy balls!
Also try the Endangered Species oat milk chocolate chips that I mentioned in the dairy-free chocolate pudding recipe post.
Once you have all of your delicious (and hopefully organic ;)) ingredients blended into a paste like texture, start rolling them into balls!
Grab the kids and have them help you with this part. What a fun Sunday morning activity!
These vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free chocolate superfood energy balls should keep up to a week in the fridge. Bon Appetit!
